Lambert Lombard (1505 - 1566) Born in Liege, Lambert Lombard trained in Antwerp before traveling to Rome from 1537 to 1538. While in Italy, he made a number of drawings from antiquities, which were later engraved in Jerome Cock workshop. He was also influenced by the work of Gossaert and van Scorel. Very few of his paintings have survived but there are close to five hundred of his drawings that have been preserved. His extant work also includes a number of engravings and copies.
